Celebrate the sea

20180528_193216Hi friends, it’s a beautiful day on the Oregon coast.  We have  sunshine, a slight breeze, the sound seagulls and a glimpses of whales in the bay.  What could be better  than that?  An ocean theme shaker card made from Heartfelt Creations under the sea collection. The theme for the month of June is coastal.  Today’s card is titled.:  you, me and the sea. The decorative edge on both sides was made with Heartfelt Creations Regal boarders and the under the sea collection. {Note: This project is not for beginners. Please click on the links at the bottom of the page  to watch the how to the videos: Regal boarders, under the sea shaker card & tropical flowers before starting the project.

The first thing I did was make the shaker portion of the card. I cut out the design  from the under the sea paper collection. I embellished it stickles glitter and let it dry. I used a premade acetate shaker  piece. Then I  made two circles frames using spellbinders circle die cuts, one from Swiss doted teal cardstock and a larger one from patterned cardstock.  When the glitter was dry, I added some sequins , glued the shaker part of the card together and set it aside.  I stamped two of the fish from under the sea collection onto white cardstock, colored and  die cut them and set them aside.  Next I stamped several tropical Hibiscus flowers  and leaves onto white cardstock, colored them with a sponge dauber using  Lady Bug and Dandelion Memento ink, die cut, shaped then set aside.

I recommend using the instructions from the regal boarder video to make the card base and boarder design piece.  I made my card and boarder design piece larger  in order to accommodate the large shaker piece. When that’s finished  take your shaker, glue it in the middle between the boarders,  add circle frames to shaker piece.  Note: If the small circle doesn’t fit,  cut out a section of it then glue in place.  Glue finished flowers  in place, the fish message and embellish with rhinestones.

I’d love to hear from you,  feel free ask questions, share your thoughts, or comments.

Happy Crafting

J. Wallace
