Love& Lace

Hi friends, do you remember the first card you got from a boyfriend or future spouse and how you felt? I’ve been married for eleven years and I still remember the our first kiss. Although Valentines day has come and gone love is always in the air. I made this card for my husband to remind him that I love him more everyday and this post is dedicated to him.

This was an easy card to make, but looks like it took hours. The card base was made from a dark raspberry card stock {approx. 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches} I used a piece of botanical orchard paper from Heartfelt Creations for the first layer, cut slightly smaller than the card base and attached it with pop dots. The heart is from Marianne design dies. This set comes with three pieces, I used the large decorative heart and the smaller one that fits inside it and die cut in the same color as the card base. {make sure to keep the smaller heart its the base piece for the flower.} Next I stamped a large flower and leaves from the flowering dogwood collection { Heartfelt Creations} in Memento gray flannel, colored the flower it with daubers using Memento rose bud ink on the outside edges and in the a little in the middle. The leaves were colored with Memento Bamboo leaves ink. I added glossy accents to the flowers and set them aside to dry. Next I cut out the largest die from Heartfelt Creations Arianna lace die cut set in 110lb white cardstock. When the flower was die I punch a small hole in the middle and inserted six beaded green stamens {available from Heartfelt Creations and added glue to the bottom of flower to hold them in place. Tip When making flowers and adding stamens I used a hot glue gun. I attached the flower to the lace die cut with my glue gun, then attached the whole piece to the small heart { from the Marianne die set I cut out earlier. I attached the large heart in the middle of the card with small cut up pieces of pop dots, attached the finished flower piece to the middle of the card with pop dots and added some rhinestones. I finished off the card by die cutting the words Love you.{ The Love die cut came from Sue Wilson design dies and the you die cut came from a Sizzix celebration word scripts
