Thinking of you

20180130_130218Hi friends, I don’t know about you, but I don’t think there’s anything better than getting a card in the mail, that says someone is thinking of you. This card, doesn’t required any fancy techniques or tools even a beginner crafter could make it.
The card base. Make a top folding card from an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white card stock. {I use 110lb cardstock} First fold the sheet in half, from the edge of the fold measure inward 4 1/2 inches mark it the spot and cut it, which will result in a top folding card. Now your ready to make the extra layers for your card.
Tip# 1.When cutting additional layers for a card, cut each layer about a 1/4 of an inch smaller than the others. This creates a layered frame for your card base.

Step one. Make a top folding card base out of white cardstock, then add a layer of moss green card stock and If you have a Spellbinders die cut matting set, you use that to make the extra layers. Next choose the pink flowered design from the Sugar Hollow paper pack cut to size and glue in place.
Step Two. Cut two ornate boarders in white cardstock. Use a dauber and ink the edges with Rose Bud Memento Ink. Glue one on each side of the card base.
Step 3. Stamp the guess who circle and the I am message with rose bud ink and die cut both of them, then use a dauber to ink the edges with Rose bud ink and set aside.
Step Three. Make a small rectangle out of dark pink cardstock and round the edges. Next find a piece of Sugar Hollow paper with the birdcage design on it and cut it slightly smaller than the dark pink rectangle and glue it onto the dark pink rectangle. {See picture}
Tip 3. The rectangle width has to be slightly larger than the guess who die cut circle.
Step Four. Put two pop dots on the back of the owl, and place it on the rectangle, then add pop dots to the guess who circle and attach to rectangle.
Step Five. Finish the outside of the card by adding three pink flowers with leaves across the top and two on the bottom of the circle.
Step Six. Stamp the I am message onto white card stock with Rose Bud ink, and use a small square, oval or decorative die cut and place it on the inside of your card.
I’d love to know what you think of the card and if you made one tell me how it turned out.
Happy crafting / J. Wallace
